Beatrice Zagato
Based between Barcelona and Padua.
She graduated in Fine Arts at the Centre d’ Art y Disseny de l’ Escola Massana, Historic Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona, the city where she moved in 2008 after obtained the Law degree in Italy.
In Barcelona she came into contact with the Spanish Art world: the famous sculptor Gabriel Sanz and the Catalan artist Begoña Egurbide have been her masters. She participated in numerous cultural events that the Catalan city offers contemporary artists as exhibiting at CASA GAUDÍ, in the historic city center of Barcelona, and in 2010 being selected to realize the very famous street-art installation “Play me, I’m yours Barcelona” that is running around whole world.
She has opened her own studio in an old factory of Barcelona, with more than other thirty creatives and designers, with whom she collaborates and realizes her works.
In 2021 she opened an art studio also in Padua.
She worked as a lawyer in Rome and Barcelona, specializing in Art law, Art market and artists’ rights. In 2008 she writes a legal thesis analyzing the state of ‘the freedom in the Arts in light of the Italian Constitution and EU and international principles’. Recently her researches in the Global Art Market field are being published in the International magazine Il Giornale dell’ Arte, Allemandi Publisher (September, 2015); Edizioni Ca’ Foscari, digital publishing of University of Venice for academic research, Human Right Research Center, Sapere l’ Europa Sapere d’Europa series (2017); Collezione da Tiffany, reference magazine for contemporary art collecting (2020).
In 2018 and 2019 she collaborated with the Italian company Cose Belle d’Italia Media Entertainment for the realization of the International art exhibitions Magister Giotto and Magister Canova, multimedia formats on the Masters of Italian Art.
In 2019 her social art project #LondonIsOpen was featured at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art in London, in whose galleries Zagato realized part of it.
In March 2020 she was in the examination committee of Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, as co-supervisor of a Master’s degree thesis in Economics and Management of Arts and Cultural Activities. Thesis title: “The profession of the artist“.
Since 2010 she is registered at Barcelona Bar Association ICAB, Illustre collegi d’ Advocats de Barcelona.
